A few life lessons

Hey there,

Today I decided to share a few life lessons interwoven with some of my favorite quotes as per usual.

Enjoy!!!

  • It is okay to be nervous and afraid, but at the end of the day everything would work out.
  • Keep in touch with your friends, their friendship would bring smiles to your face on your worst days

Friends show their love in times of trouble, not in happiness

Euripides

  • Your performance review at work is not related to your self-worth, this one is a tough pill
  • If people want to set you up on blind dates…let them…it makes for a good story

Now anyone who has ever been on a blind date is well familiar with “The Moment”—that moment where you first walk into the bar or restaurant or coffee shop and scan the crowd and suddenly your heart stops and you say to yourself: oh, please—let it be him

Julie James

  • Find a hobby, something that interests you outside of your day job
  • Health is wealth
  • Learn to be present…keep the phone and internet away every once in a while

The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness

Abraham Maslow

  • Give thoughtful gifts and sincere compliments
  • Between the pages of books lies infinite wisdom…read a book
  • Define what self-care/unwinding means to you and do it
  • There is no joy in a toxic relationship…cut it

Letting go of toxic people in your life is a big step in loving yourself

Hussein Nishah

  • Long hair, short hair you can rock both…it has nothing to do with the number of suitors you would have
  • Skin care is important…invest in it
  • If you like a guy…tell him

You get in life what you have the courage to ask for

Oprah Winfrey

  • Laugh when you can…it does wonders for the soul
  • Save your coins…invest wisely
  • It is okay to reinvent yourself

It’s never too late—never too late to start over, never too late to be happy

Jane Fonda

  • If you get an apartment, have the numbers of a plumber, electrician, and carpenter handy
  • Comparison is the thief of joy
  • Be your own person, do not let people’s expectations make you into someone else

But one of the big lessons I have learned from my journey is you can’t please everyone, so don’t try
