Naming your year

If January is a free trial month, February is the month for learning and development.

February is merely as long as is needed to pass the time until March.

Late last year (read: sometime in November), I was meditating a lot about what I wanted 2018 to look like: in terms of my goals, my aspirations, the kind of person I wanted to be etc.

My goal setting experience was great (more on that later). I was able to set my 2018 goals as well as my “before 30” goals. After the goal setting enthusiasm, my enthusiasm slowly turned into fear. I started having thoughts of fear and the feeling that my goals were going to impossible to reach.

A few days later I was listening to a podcast by Myleik Teele where she mentioned the name of her 2018 journals. My very own light bulb moment, a little more thought and then I made my decision. My mantra, my name for the year, was going to be something that would push me into breaking new ground. That decision led me to say that 2018 would be my year of limitless living.

Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless

So what does my mantra of choice – limitless living mean to me, you ask?

  • It helps me get rid of personal limitations
  • It reminds me to set big and clear goals
  • It reminds me to eliminate any constraints

So do you have any mantras?  Let me know in the comments section.
